You’re pregnant! There’s not much that beats the excitement and anticipation of a pregnancy, and the TDY team are here to make sure you enjoy the next 9 months in the safest, fittest and healthiest way possible. As future parents, your level of exercise is particularly important in the 12 months leading up to conception – especially for Mums. It is this pre-pregnant level of activity that sets the tone for your 9 months of fun, excitement, anticipation and ensuing joy.
Mums-to-Be: If you don’t already participate in regular exercise, this is the time to begin a safe and carefully planned program. And if you already exercise regularly, then it’s the perfect time to focus on specific training to prepare you for the coming 9 months and the years ahead post-baby.
It seems far too simple, but one of the most important contributors to a comfortable and stress-free pregnancy is good posture. Correct alignment of the body and spinal region assists to decrease lower back and neck pain, whilst minimising fatigue during these important months. It’s for this reason that TDY focuses closely on establishing good posture, proper stance and a strong core for expecting Mum’s – you’ll be surprised by the difference it makes. A Women’s Only service, this session is available for individuals or small groups (2-4 people) and spotlights functional exercise, focusing on:
- spinal alignment,
- pelvic floor stability,
- posture in standing, sitting and lying down and
- best-practice mobility strategies for bending and lifting in the lead up to giving birth.
